We believe a better world is possible through better education. Learning opportunities can open the door to jobs, resources, and skills that a person needs to not just survive, but thrive. Education is one of the most powerful vehicles for sustainable development – by fighting global poverty, inequality, and vulnerability. Therefore IBMI supports education projects in Cameroon, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Laos, and the Philippines.

Leapfrog e.V. / Africa

The digital divides are a social issue – referring to the different access to information and communication technologies between North and South, men and women, rural and urban, and young and old.

In close collaboration with its local partner organisations in Africa, Leapfrog e.V. contributes to closing the digital divides in Kenya, Cameroon, Uganda, and Ghana. You can find more information and support the project here.

LUTSS e.V. / Kenya

The Joy Education Center in Nairobi, Kenya was founded by Joyce Muhonja with other dedicated women from her area. The women want to give the poorer children of Nairobi an easy access to quality education.

The organization Living under the Same Sun (LUTSS) e.V. from Berlin helps Joyce and her neighborhood initiative to finance the school. You can find more information and support the project here.

Art Meets Education e.V. / Philippines

Art is an endeavor, which enriches life through emotions and stories for each individual. Children are honest and terrific artists. While it is clear that art gives meaning, can it, however, also educate?

The organization Art Meets Education e.V. enables children from impoverished backgrounds in Manila (Philippines) to finance their own education through their creativity. You can find more information and support the project here.

Reading Elephant / Laos

Due to a less prominent tradition of reading as well as underdeveloped infrastructure, children in Laos have little or no access to books. However, the children are eager for knowledge and full of curiosity.

The children’s mobile library Reading Elephant Laos is dedicated to promoting reading and learning skills among children and young people. You can find more information and support the project here.
