Open your LinkedIn profile
Log in to LinkedIn and go to your own profile page — the one with your photo and headline at the top.
Put your certificate
on your LinkedIn profile.
You have earned your certificate — now let people see it. Three short steps, about five minutes, and it sits on your profile where employers actually look.
Follow these three steps:
Find the certifications section
How you get there depends on what you are using.
On a computer
Click Add profile section, just below your photo. Choose Recommended, then Add licenses & certifications.
On a phone
On your profile, scroll to Accomplishments, tap Add accomplishments, then choose Certification.
Fill in the details
LinkedIn asks for six things. Here is what goes in each.
Name
The name of your course, program or language certificate, exactly as it appears on the document. LinkedIn may suggest options from a dropdown as you type — you are free to ignore them.
Issuing organisation
Start typing International Business Management Institute (IBMI) and pick us from the dropdown.
Issue date
The date printed on your certificate.
Expiration date
Ours never expire. On a computer leave it blank; on a phone tick This certification doesn’t expire.
Credential ID
The ID from the bottom-right corner of your certificate, dashes included.
Credential URL
See the note below — this one is worth a moment.
The Credential URL
Take https://www.ibm-institute.com/verify/?code= and add your own certificate ID to the end of it —
the one from the bottom-right corner, dashes and all.
So if your ID is 1-234-456-789, the URL you enter is:
https://www.ibm-institute.com/verify/?code=1-234-456-789
Done that way, anyone looking at your profile clicks once and sees the certificate confirmed.
You can also simply use https://www.ibm-institute.com/verify/ on its own — but then whoever wants to check the certificate has to enter the code manually.
That is it.
Your certificate now sits on your profile, and anyone can check that it is genuine.
Tell people, if you would like to
Adding it to your profile is quiet — it will not appear in anyone’s feed. If you would rather say something about it, write a post from your LinkedIn feed and attach the certificate.
On a computer
While writing the post, choose Document and upload the certificate PDF.
On a phone
Only photos can be attached, so take a screenshot of your certificate and upload that instead.
Check it works.
Paste your ID into the verification page and you will see exactly what a recruiter sees when they follow the link from your profile.
